Who we are:

Forces for Good is a trading name of Graftr Limited based in London, England. Forces for Good is the data controller of the personal data you provide to us.

What data of yours we collect and process:

We may collect and process the following information about you, to facilitate matching you to volunteering roles, such as your

  • name,
  • telephone number,
  • email address,
  • year of birth and your
  • special skills

We may also use your IP address to allow us to see where you are (to ensure that we can optimise our website for your country or language of origin) and the browser on which you are accessing our website, to allow us to optimise the site for your viewing.

If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.

Where We Store Your Data:

We will store all information about you on secure servers. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area ("EEA"). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the UK or the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that any personal data transferred outside the UK or the EEA is treated securely and in accordance with the applicable data protection laws. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure.

Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk.

How we use your data:

We may use information held about you in the following ways:

  • Promote you as a volunteer to government and other official bodies who may be able to make use of your volunteering services.
  • Ensure that content from our site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer;
  • To notify you about changes to our service.

When contacting you for the above purposes we may do so by phone, post, email or other electronic means, unless you tell us otherwise.

We will only share information, including personal data, with third parties where they are reputable bodies (health services, military services or national, regional or local government bodies) to facilitate your volunteering.

We collect and store your personal data for the purpose of our volunteering database and in future to try to assist our volunteers to promote their own businesses. As such, we will only retain your personal data for as long as we believe it is up-to-date, i.e. as long as it is associated with a volunteer that is included in our database. We verify our data periodically and if we learn that you are no longer able to volunteer, we will remove your data from our records.

Why we’re allowed to process your data by law:

We collect and use your data because it is in the legitimate interest of our business to do so, and because you have given us permission to do so by signing up.

If you are referred to us by someone who is already a member, we will process your data to invite you to join our website, and your data will be deleted within 6 months if you fail to do so.

Your Rights

If you would like to see the personal information that we hold about you, you can request a copy at any time. If you are a member, you can login and correct information about yourself at any time, or can write to us at hello@forcesforgood.co to request editing or deletion of your personal information.

We won’t ever charge you for a copy of your personal information.
