The Clyde bar has been an integral part of the Helensburgh community, since the 1960’s, when it started out life as a café. It has been running as a pub, with its unique charm, since 1988, run by owner, John.
As an avid collector of memorabilia, The Clyde Bar is adorned with an enviable collection of comics from the 40’s and 50’s, genuine autographed pictures, and art pieces from local sculptors. What a lovely environment to sit back and enjoy a drink, whilst socialising with friends or family!
Why The Clyde Bar?
Range of cask ales,
Stunning collection of over 150 malt whiskeys – by far the biggest in Helensburgh!
With a history of putting on live music and comedy nights (Kevin Bridges and Travis have performed there, to name a couple of examples), The Clyde Bar still puts on occasional events today.
Far from the commercial crass of the big chains, this local watering hole is surely a gem worth treasuring. Be sure to pay them a visit on your next night out, or quick ‘one for the road’ (though it rarely is)!
For an altogether great night out in Helensburgh pass by the Clyde Bar on your way home, for some outstanding liquid refreshment. Not to mention, a great environment, and bags good old fashioned friendly service with a smile!
